Once a writer, always a writer. That’s the best way to describe me. If you knew me at age 10, I was the bespectacled kid running around with a tattered notebook bursting with poems and short stories. At age 13, I was interviewing teachers and students as editor of the weekly school newsletter. I was a roving reporter for the high school newspaper at 17. In my twenties, I covered cops and courts for a daily newspaper before landing in business-to-business (B2B) publishing, where I’ve been ever since.
I am also a techno-geek. I’ve yet to find a technology or topic uninteresting. Over the span of my career, I’ve written on everything from indoor air quality and green cleaning to sustainable purchasing and artificial intelligence, to the IOT and cybersecurity. If the topic requires me to dig in and do volumes of research, it’s for me.
My friends say my penchant for all things nerdy makes for a neat party trick because I know a lot about things others do not. For example, I can talk with intelligence about choosing the best flooring for a bustling airport, authenticating diamonds on the blockchain, filtering water out of jet fuel or the latest developments in semi-truck transmissions. And, don’t even get me started on matters involving security or law enforcement, you may never get away.
I also spent many years as a journalist, so I know how to meet a deadline, even a tight one. There is no excuse for late copy, and you will never hear one from me.
My years as an editor are also a plus. I have been on the receiving end of thousands of ill-conceived pitches for every product and service under the sun. I know what editors want, and can pitch your product, your service and your story in a way that sings.
Plus, I can guarantee your stories will be well written. I’ve received numerous international and national writing awards for my articles and the magazines I’ve edited. In fact, I count many MADD Media, Tabbie and APEX awards among the recognition I’ve received.
Messages matter. There is tremendous power in the written word, and to do your project justice, you need a writer who will dig deep into your topic to tell your story in a compelling and unique way. My diverse body of work is what makes me a fearless copywriter. Throw a complex topic at me, and I will consistently deliver content that tells your audience or your customer more about it and why it’s important.
